Recently, someone reached out asking for a “quick quote” for a Europe trip, no details, no conversation, just a number.
It’s a common request, but it highlights a misconception about how travel planning actually works.
A custom trip is not a fixed product with a set price. The investment can vary dramatically depending on your preferences. Two travelers visiting the same destination could have completely different experiences. One might choose boutique hotels and guided experiences, while another prefers five-star properties, private drivers, and exclusive access. Both are wonderful. Neither can be priced accurately without context.
This is why I don’t provide instant quotes.
Instead, I begin every client relationship with a brief, complimentary consultation. In about 30 minutes, I learn how you like to travel, your pace, priorities, and where you see the most value. Do you want your days thoughtfully curated or more flexible? Are you drawn to intimate, design-forward hotels or full-service luxury properties? Will you need flights, rail, or private transfers arranged?
These details matter. They are what transform a trip from generic to seamless.
Most of my clients are investing in experiences where their time is limited and their expectations are high. They are not looking for the lowest price. They are looking for a trip that feels effortless, well-designed, and completely aligned with how they want to experience a destination.
That level of personalization cannot happen through a one-line email quote.
What it does require is a thoughtful process, one that protects your investment and ensures every recommendation is tailored specifically to you.
If you are considering a trip and want clarity on what is possible within your budget, the best place to start is a conversation.
From there, I can design something that reflects not only where you want to go, but how you want to feel when you are there.
